USC Hillel Leadership Opportunities

Student Board

Our Student Executive Board is responsible for planning and implementing programs for the entire campus community. The board works with professional mentors and an ever-growing team of student leaders to ensure that Hillel’s programs are exciting, fun, and engaging for all Jewish Trojans.

First Year Engagement Fellows (FEF)

FEFs are responsible for facilitating FreshFest, USC Hillel's retreat for incoming Jewish Trojans. The FEFs welcome incoming freshmen, spring admits, and transfer students, helping them acclimate into Jewish life on-campus. Every FEF is there to ensure that students have a smooth transition to campus life and give every incoming student a warm welcome to Jewish life at USC.

Campus Engagement Interns (CEI)

The Campus Engagement Internship is a yearlong internship program with Hillel dedicated to seeking out and bringing in unengaged or underengaged Jewish students in the USC community. The interns (known as CEIs) receive professional training from Hillel staff and engage students one-on-one and through innovative programming. Past CEI projects include Opinion Minyan, a discussion-based alternative to traditional Shabbat prayer, NJQ (Nice Jewish Queers), an LGBTQ+ affirming Jewish student group, and Jews & Jokes, a semesterly Shabbat featuring performances from some of LA’s best stand-up comedians.
