Jaime Gesundheit 

Jaime Gesundheit AIA graduated from the USC School of Architecture with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972 and a Master in Architecture in 1974. He established his own Architecture/Construction firm in 1979 and is responsible for the design/build of over 3 million square feet of commercial construction in the western United States. Under his leadership the firm won numerous AIA design awards.

He is currently Vice President of Real Estate for Shapco, Inc., privately held Real Estate Co. with over 2 million feet of commercial space under management. He is responsible for all the Real Estate operations at Shapco, Inc. His community work includes serving on the Board of Councilors at the USC School of Architecture, The Coaches Council for USC Trojan Golf, Congregational Fund Trustee at SSWT, as well as a Commissioner for the California Architects Board.

He has previously served as President of the Los Angeles Hillel Council, as a member of the Executive Committee of the Moriah Society at the University of Judaism, the Building committee at Brentwood Country Club, as co-chair of the Building Committee at Stephen S Wise Temple, as member of the SSWT Board of Trustees, and as a founding director of the American institute of Architects, San Fernando Valley Chapter.

Jaime is married to Susan Shapiro Gesundheit, and accomplished artist who graduated from UCLA and currently serves on the Board of Councilors of the USC Roski School of Fine Arts. She is also the chair of the USC Hillel Arts Council Committee. Susie and Jaime have two children. Avi Gesundheit (1978-1996) and Daniela Gesundheit (Goldman) who is lead singer/ songwriter for the alternative folk/rock band Snowblink based in Toronto Canada. Jaime’s and Susie’s involvement span over 12 years. In addition to his current role as President, Jaime has served in various leadership positions since 1998. Jaime was instrumental in the project management of USC Hillel’s Extreme makeover, which concluded in August 2010.
