USC Hillel Core Values

USC Hillel Connects Students to Israel

USC Hillel views Israel as a core element of Jewish life and a gateway to Jewish identity. We provide every Jewish student with the opportunity to explore and build an enduring relationship with Israel through our engaging educational and cultural programs, support of pro-Israel student advocacy groups, Taglit-Birthright Israel, study abroad, and a variety of immersive travel opportunities.

USC Hillel Supports a Life of Jewish Meaning

USC Hillel creates a safe space for students to explore their Jewish, embark on Jewish learning experiences, and celebrate Jewish culture and tradition. Our student life team works with students through to craft celebrations of Shabbat and holidays, and to offer informal as well as immersive learning experiences.

USC Hillel Engages Students at a Critical Time in Their Lives

USC Hillel strives to support our students as they explore their identity while living away from home for the first time. With more than 50% of Jewish students now growing up in interfaith homes, we bring equal commitment to mentoring students from all backgrounds along their Jewish journeys (including those who come without prior affiliation with the organized Jewish community). By fostering an exploration of their passions and interests as Jews and as young adults, along with an intensive effort to get to know the broader Jewish student body, we are able to co-create meaningful Jewish experiences with our students.

USC Hillel Repairs The World

USC Hillel inspires and provides students with opportunities to live out their commitment to social justice and community service through ongoing and special events that serve our local community, the greater Los Angeles area, and communities in need around the world. Key partnerships with local and national organizations engage students in the ongoing work of tikkun olam (repairing the world).
