1st Night Seder: (Monday, March 25 – 7:30pm)
Please join us for a lively 1st Night Seder at USC Hillel. The seder will be led by Rabbi Micah Ellenson and students. We will be using "A Different Night Haggadah" with supplements from the "New American Haggadah" edited by Jonathan Safran Foyer and translated by Nathan Englander. The seder will include most of the traditional elements and rituals, as well as discussion, singing and a lot of great food. The student price is just $10, a bargain for the quality of seder, discussion and good times to be had by all.

Exodus Shabbat Seder: African-American and Jewish Re-Tellings on Slavery and Freedom: (Friday, March 29 – 6:30pm)
The Black Student Assembly and USC Hillel are teaming up this year for an extra Passover seder of a new and exciting sort. The Exodus Seder will explore the Jewish and African-American experiences of oppression and perseverance, celebrating and learning from each other’s histories, cultures, and stories. One of the central purposes of the Passover seder is cultivating empathy for the other– those still oppressed today in our own communities and throughout the world. This seder aims to embrace and celebrate both of our respective heritages in the witnessing of the other as we seek camaraderie and support through sharing telling stories of our ancestors and of us in every generation. The evening will include slam poetry, gospel music, discussion of issues facing our two communities today, theater of the oppressed, and stories of mythic and real oppression, slavery, and overcoming. Please join us for this special night of sharing and liberation.
