Continuing Education Breakfast Series:
Demographic Implications for Future Interest Rates

All finance professionals are invited to attend USC Hillel’s Jewish Alumni Association’s continued education program, ‘Demographic Implications for Future Interests Rates.’ This program, led by Prof. Dr. Larry Harris, former USC Hillel Board Chair and current Fred V. Keenan Chair in Finance at the USC Marshall School of Business will address the long-term determinants of interest rates and their implications for retirement planning.

This program satisfies NAPFA, CFP, CFA, CPA, CLU/ChFC, and CIMA continuing education requirements*

The Parents Association’s Cooking Class: Perfect your Passover Seder
March 1, 7:00 PM, Westwood

Join USC Hillel for a Passover friendly cooking class led by Chef Viv, our Shabbat chef. Chef Viv, founder of District 5 Kitchen, will lead us through unique and delicious Passover hors d’oeuvre and dessert recipes. This event is generously hosted by Melissa & Harvey Deutsch in their Westwood home. The address will be provided upon registration. Space is limited to the first 20 registrants. USC Alumni Day of SCervice
Sunday, March 11, 10:00 AM, Beit T’Shuvah, Culver City

In partnership with USC Alumni Day of SCervice, the JAA invites you to fulfill the mitzvah of preparing and packaging meals for members of our community struggling with homelessness and addiction. The JAA will partner with Beit T’Shuvah, a Jewish, faith-based recovery center that focuses on the spiritual healing of addiction. Our day will begin with meeting current residents, followed by preparing and packaging meals for those still suffering from homelessness. Volunteers will have the option to hand deliver their packaged meals following our time at Beit T’Shuvah. This service project is open to all ages and faiths.

A Special Yom HaShoah Book Talk with Dr. Steven Ross
Hitler in Los Angeles: How Jews Foiled Plots Against Hollywood and America
Wednesday, April 11, 7:00 PM, Hillcrest Country Club

The JAA is proud to invite you to a book talk with Dr. Steven Ross, a professor of History at USC, and USC Hillel Board Member. Dr. Ross’ most recent book, Hitler in Los Angeles: How Jews Foiled Nazi Plots Against Hollywood and America is a chilling little-known story of the rise of Nazism in Los Angeles, and the Jewish leaders and spies they recruited who stopped it. Hitler in Los Angeles has been on the Los Angeles Times Best Seller list for several weeks and was recently nominated for a Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award.
