Ryan completed his education in 1996 at the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. In April of 1996, Ryan started his real estate career and simultaneously chose to get involved in Jewish Philanthropy.
Since becoming involved in the Jewish Federation Ryan has held many leadership roles and positions. Ryan nominated, applied and was accepted in an elite philanthropic group of North American Jewry on a national level in 2001 and began National Young Leadership Cabinet 2002-2008 of the Jewish Federations of North America. Within NYLC Ryan held various positions: Western Leadership Conference Co-Chair 2004, 4th Year Men’s Cabinet Chair 2006, Ben Gurion Society Co-Chair for the General Assembly Ryan has earned the Julius M. Ratner Leadership Award 2005. Ryan was on the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles Jewish Federation 2003-2007, has been a Jewish Big Brother (JBBBS) 1996-2004, was Super Sunday Los Angeles City Chair 2007, 2008 & 2009, Young Leadership Division (YLD) Vice Chair of Campaign 2000-2002, Real Estate & Construction Division Young Leadership Division (REC-YLD) Vice Chair Campaign 2002-2004, REC-YLD Chair 2004-2006, REC Executive Committee Member 2000-2010, and countless other positions.
In 2003 Ryan and his business partner started their own commercial real estate brokerage. For years he has been analyzing, evaluating and guiding his clients to successful real estate investments. He has been involved in hundreds of transactions and his partner and he have sold over 2,000 multi-residential units in the Mid Wilshire area of Los Angeles amongst countless other investment property types including, office, retail, land and residential. He has also successfully negotiated retail leases for his business clients.
In 2002 Ryan had a desire to start training in martial arts again. Having previously trained during his teenage years in Tae Kwon Do he wanted to train in something different, something more practical. This led him to Krav Maga-the official Israeli Self Defense and was immediately sold after his first class. After training for three years Ryan was invited to enter the instructor training program November 2005. He currently holds a Black Belt which he earned February 28, 2010 and has been teaching passionately since January 2006.
