Dear Friends of USC Hillel
On Thursday, May 6, nearly 350 community members, USC Trustees, senior USC administrators, USC Deans, faculty, students and friends attended a historic tribute, honoring Dr. Steven B. Sample for transforming Jewish life at USC. By all accounts, this was the most successful AND meaningful event in USC Hillel's history, exceeding all expectations.
Guests enjoyed hearing the USC Marching Band, a tremendous student-produced video about Hillel, an award presentation by Stanley P. Gold and President Elect, C.L. Max Nikias, remarks by Dr. Steven B. Sample, as well as the unforgettable performance by Jim Belushi and the Sacred Hearts Band.
The GALA marked an important transition point for USC Hillel. Not only did we raise significant funds to support critical student programs, but it helped to generate awareness of our institution and its noble mission; to enrich the lives of our students so they may enrich the Jewish community AND the world.
Despite turbulent economic times and increased demand on our students' time and attention, Hillel has been able to raise its sights this year, envisioning a future which will impact and benefit the entire USC community. Going forward, USC Hillel will foster and enhance the meaningful Jewish experiences of our students, establish ourselves as an indispensable partner to USC, and inspire our students on their Jewish and human journeys.
We are grateful to everyone who was able to attend and support the event, and we look forward to building on this year's success.
Thank you again.
Fight On,
